OPI Gas Commencement
OPI Gas (Pvt.) Limited was incorporated as a Company in year 1998 under the Companies Ordinance 1984, to carry out Principal business of distribution of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the country under the trade name of “Khaas Gas”. It is running its business under a License awarded by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). The marketing license was given by the Authority to OPI Gas in July 2006.
OPI Gas (Pvt) Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zaver Petroleum Corporation Ltd; a Group Company. In view of ever increasing demand of LPG, OPI Gas has set up its facilities for filling and distribution of LPG throughout the country. The Company takes pride in providing excellent services through a wide array of its operations whether it is cylinder sales and distribution, delivering convenience and catering energy needs to the industrial segment. OPI Gas has been supplying LPG through a wide scale of operations that is unmatched by the range of applications for different segments. The company is also planning to get additional allocations of LPG from indigenous sources as well as will be importing LPG in order to meet the ever growing demand of LPG in the country.
OPI Gas (Private) Limited was established in 2006, with a vision, to ensure that LPG would be made available anywhere and everywhere in the country. The Company started with the installation of LPG storage and filling plant in Dhurnal, District Attock; some 80 kilometers from Islamabad. In order to develop a safe, reliable and cost effective service from the very start, a network of around 40 reliable distributors was set in place to supply LPG to different parts of the country. The plant’s location was ideally chosen to accommodate the demand of LPG in the Northern areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir (AK); with a storage capacity of 50 Metric Tons, which was later enhanced to 100 Metric Tons immediately in order to keep up with the domestic demand in the region. The plant’s filling capacity of 50 Metric tons per day was based on growing demand and market research, to meet customers’ needs with ease.
Following the initial plan, the Company envisioned a second plant in a place where it can reach out to a vast pool of consumers. Hence, LPG storage and filling plant was installed at Jambar (District Kasur), located at a distance of 50 kilometers from Lahore, to increase the availability of LPG in the region. Primarily, the location of the plant was to cater for the growing gap between supply and demand of LPG in Okara, Sahiwal, Kasur and Lahore and its suburbs.
During year 2018, as a self-reliant and cost effective option, OPIG acquired a 100 metric tons LPG storage & filling facility at Sadhoki in district Gujranwala to further strengthen its core business and resulantly an increase of 100% in owned storage capacity i.e. from 150 metric tons in year 2013 to 300 metric tons in year 2019. A fast track transition of Sales from hospitality arrangement to Sadhoki Plant is planned. These continuous deliberated initiatives have given OPIG a favorable edge to successfully exploit and secure market enhancement opportunities.
